General data processing

We process personal data only where necessary to operate this website, handle donations, direct debit mandates, cancellations, inquiries or legal obligations. The legal bases include Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 6(1)(b), Art. 6(1)(c) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Website access and technical provision

This website is operated locally on a computer of the controller. Technical connection data such as IP address, date and time of access, accessed pages, transmitted data volume, browser and device information may be processed to provide the website securely.

The internet connection is provided via Telekom Deutschland GmbH or Deutsche Telekom AG. Domain and email services are provided by STRATO AG.

Cookies and session data

Technically necessary session data may be used to protect forms against misuse and to enable the admin login. We also use Google Analytics. Analytics cookies or comparable technologies may be used for this purpose.

PayPal donations

If you donate via PayPal, you will be redirected to PayPal. Payment processing is then carried out by PayPal in its own responsibility. More information: PayPal privacy policy.

Direct debit and GoCardless

If you submit a direct debit mandate, we process the data entered in the form, including name, address, email, phone number, donation amount, payment frequency, account holder, IBAN, BIC, requested debit date, mandate date and optional information. Cancellation of a direct debit mandate

If you cancel a direct debit mandate through the cancellation form, we process the information provided to identify and handle the cancellation.

Telegram notification

When a donation form or cancellation is submitted, we receive an internal notification via a Telegram bot. Bank details are only shown in shortened form in Telegram.

Email communication

If you contact us by email or submit a form, we process your contact details and message to handle your request. Confirmation emails are sent via STRATO AG.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the website so that we can improve content and processes. Information such as accessed pages, usage time, approximate region, device, browser and interactions may be processed. Google may also transfer data to servers of Google LLC in the USA. Storage period

Donation, payment, mandate and accounting data are stored for at least the statutory retention periods, usually up to ten years. Data may be stored beyond that where legitimate documentation interests exist or until withdrawal, unless legal retention obligations apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
